Modestly put, I'm a guitar teacher. However I have moments at the end of good teaching days when I feel like more. A positive influence for the kids, an artistic nudge, an outlet for the inexhaustible energy children bring to my studio. But this past Sunday afternoon while wading through the aftermath of our very first installment of the Dissonance Concert Series I felt like I had witnessed the birth of something even more.
In music, a dissonant chord is a chord that is seemingly out of harmony. Dissonance can be employed by a crafty songwriter to alley-oop the delivery of a most satisfying musical resolution.
