Ryan Lendt moved to the Bay Area in 2004. He attended PSU, taking away from that experience that his true purpose was not to become a businessman, but to perform and share the love of rock ‘n roll, and that Southwestern Pennsylvania was not the place to do it. So he packed some clothes, a guitar, and his box turtles into his ’93 Cavalier and made his way to the Bay Area.

Ryan spent his childhood in several places, including Boston, Toronto, and Pittsburgh, during a time when public schools everywhere provided children with a basic musical education.  He still remembers those early classes, crediting them as the foundation on which he would cultivate his musicality.  As the arts get cut from school budgets, Ryan’s determination to foster youngsters’ love for music is stronger and more prevalent than ever.

It was at age ten when his parents bought him a used trumpet through the classified ads that Ryan became the youngest band geek known to man.  He loved music and, much to the neighbors’ chagrin, practiced day and night without any urging from his folks.  Ryan practiced so much he became the only 4th grader in the 6th grade band. But as fate would have it, one of his neighborhood friends put a guitar in his hands.

Ryan took a few traditional guitar lessons, but fell out of favor with that way of doing things when it became apparent that he was expected to learn Hot Cross Buns before Even Flow.  So, he did what any self respecting twelve year old with a desire to rock would do: he started a band.  His first performance was a Pearl Jam song at age 12 in the school gym.  Very little of it was actually correct, but it didn't matter; Ryan had caught the performing bug.  Many bands, many performances, and a lot of hard work and practice were to follow, and that, kind reader, brings us to the present.

Ryan has been teaching guitar lessons and rock band classes in the Bay Area for 5 years.  His deep love for music and performing has inspired Ryan to open a studio for aspiring rockers.  Ryan’s groups give kids of all ages (including grownup kids) and skill levels the opportunity to find their inner musician.
